3 3 FAIRY HORSE (J144) E C W Wong (-7) Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between ALLOY KING and STERLING WONGCHOY. Approaching the 550 Metres, when racing keenly, improved to the outside of DOUBLE BINGO and as a result made contact with ALMIGHTY KICK. FAIRY HORSE then continued to race keenly in the middle stages and refused to settle. Leaving the 200 Metres was shifted to the inside of BEAU GOSSE to obtain clear running.

Approaching the first turn near the 1000 Metres was momentarily crowded between WINNING HEART which shifted in slightly and BEAU GOSSE which got its head up and shifted out when making the turn awkwardly. Was left racing wide and without cover from the 600 Metres.
4 5 TALENTS SUPREMO (H133) C L Chau (-2) Shortly after the start raced in restricted room between BEAU GOSSE and SAME TO YOU, both of which shifted ground slightly. Sent for sampling post-race.

8 10 BITS SUPERSTAR (J362) C L Chau (-2) No report.
6 11 ICONICAL (J504) K Teetan Prior to declaring weighed-in, the Stewards gave consideration as to whether ICONICAL had been afforded a fair start. After taking evidence from Jockey K Teetan and Deputy Starter Mr C McMullen, the Stewards found that ICONICAL lay on the side of the gates as the start was effected and lost ground. As the Stewards were satisfied that ICONICAL had been afforded the opportunity to start with the field, the horse was declared a runner.
1 12 TACTICAL COMMAND (H197) A Badel Sent for sampling post-race.
WXNR 3 SWAGGER BRO (K089) M L Yeung The Stewards deferred the declaration of weighed-in whilst they considered if SWAGGER BRO had been afforded a fair start. After taking evidence from Jockey M L Yeung, Trainer D A Hayes and Deputy Starter Mr C McMullen, it was established that as the start was effected Jockey Yeung had his right arm positioned on the barrier partition whilst he adjusted his right stirrup. As the Stewards were satisfied that SWAGGER BRO was unable to jump with the field as a consequence, they determined that the horse was denied a fair start and as such was declared a non-runner. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

6 2 FORTUNE WHISKEY (J153) T Marquand Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded by LUCKY ARCHANGEL which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.
10 3 LUCKY ARCHANGEL (E385) M F Poon After the event, M F Poon stated that with the early stages of the event being run inside of standard time his mount was under pressure throughout the race and finished the race off only fairly in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
3 4 MOTOMAN (J436) A Atzeni In the middle stages raced ungenerously.
5 5 BEAUTY THUNDER (J299) A Hamelin Near the 1150 Metres was steadied to avoid MOTOMAN which shifted out and way from NEBRASKAN. Prior to declaring weighed-in, the Stewards gave consideration as to whether there were grounds for a protest/objection against POWER KOEPP being declared the 4th placegetter when POWER KOEPP shifted in approaching the 50 Metres. As the Stewards were satisfied that BEAUTY THUNDER had not established clear running to the inside of POWER KOEPP, they declined to lodge a protest/objection when there were not sufficient grounds to do so. Approaching the 50 Metres was eased and shifted to the outside of POWER KOEPP when disappointed for clear running.
12 6 ONE FOR ALL (G012) L Ferraris When questioned, L Ferraris stated that his instructions were to take up a forward position and lead if possible. He said he was also given instructions not to make too much use of his mount to do so. He said after ONE FOR ALL commenced well he expected the horse to show its natural early pace to cross runners to its inside but when POWER KOEPP and NEBRASKAN held their positions to his inside ONE FOR ALL was obliged to race very wide making the first turn. He added as a result he elected to obtain cover behind NEBRASKAN along the Back Straight, however, making the Home Turn ONE FOR ALL became awkward in its action and when under pressure in the Home Straight he was concerned there may be something amiss with his mount. Trainer M Newnham confirmed the instructions were to lead and advised that he expected ONE FOR ALL to be able to lead without being pressured to do so as there did not appear to be strong pace in the race. He added as such he had instructed Jockey Ferraris not to make too much use of his mount in the early stages as he felt the horse would have sufficient pace to cross runners to its inside. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Leaving the 400 Metres became unbalanced when racing tight to the inside of HIGHLAND RAHY. After the event, L Ferraris confirmed that his instructions were to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages as SMART FIGHTER was stepping up in distance from the 1200 Metres in order to allow it to run out the 1650 Metres of tonight’s event. Trainer P F Yiu confirmed the instructions and the reason why such instructions were issued.
1 5 THESIS (H111) A Atzeni Approaching the 1400 Metres made contact with HAPPY DAILY when racing tight to the inside of PERFECTO MOMENTS. Approaching the 700 Metres was momentarily crowded between YOUTH POWER which shifted out slightly and PERFECTO MOMENTS which shifted in. Over the concluding stages brushed with COURIER MAGIC due to both runners shifting ground. Sent for sampling post-race.
10 6 HIGHLAND RAHY (J298) L Hewitson After the event, L Hewitson stated that his mount raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages. He added in the Home Straight he was held up for clear running behind WAH MAY WAI WAI before being checked away from that runner approaching the 250 Metres. He said as a result his mount finished the race off only fairly thereafter. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
12 7 WAH MAY WAI WAI (J193) M Chadwick After the event, M Chadwick stated that from a wide barrier he was obliged to make too much use of his mount in the early stages to cross to race outside the lead and this was the reason it gave ground when placed under pressure in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
7 8 CHARMING STEED (E494) E C W Wong (-7) After the event, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that his mount raced "flat” tonight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
9 9 FIREFOOT (J183) A Badel After the event, A Badel stated that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event and this was the reason why it did not run on in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
6 10 YOUTH POWER (H358) M L Yeung Bumped at the start. Near the 1400 Metres raced in restricted room to the inside of FIREFOOT when that runner was taken in slightly by WAH MAY WAI WAI which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. Approaching the 250 Metres became unbalanced when bumped by HIGHLAND RAHY which shifted out when being checked away from WAH MAY WAI WAI.
3 11 COURIER MAGIC (H290) B Thompson Over the concluding stages brushed with THESIS due to both runners shifting ground.
11 12 PERFECTO MOMENTS (J003) H T Mo (-2) Raced very wide and without cover from the 900 Metres.

He said with the early stages of the event being run inside of standard time ALLGREEKTOME did not show sufficient pace to allow him to comply with the instructions and as a result settled further back than anticipated. When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight, T Marquand stated that when positioned to the inside of NOTTHESILLYONE and behind HAPPY UNITED, he was unable to shift out and after the 300 Metres he then elected to shift to the inside of HAPPY UNITED to secure clear running. He added as he commenced to shift in HAPPY UNITED lay in which resulted in him having to continue to shift in to that runner’s inside in order to obtain clear running. He said near the 200 Metres when HAPPY UNITED continued to shift in he contemplated shifting to its outside but when Jockey L Ferraris pulled his whip through to his right hand he was of the opinion that runner would straighten. He said approaching the 150 Metres ALLGREEKTOME was then checked when disappointed for clear running to the inside of HAPPY UNITED when that runner continued to shift in. T Marquand agreed with the Stewards that in retrospect his better option would have been to shift to the outside of HAPPY UNITED near the 200 Metres to secure clear running.
