Subsequently, the rider of the horse, 2nd placegetter, lodged a protest/objection against the winner being declared the winner alleging interference over the concluding stages. After considering the evidence, the Stewards found that over the concluding stages the winner shifted out whilst being ridden along and as a result made contact with the horse, resulting in the horse becoming unbalanced and its rider also becoming slightly unbalanced. As the Stewards were satisfied that had the interference not occurred that the horse would have finished in advance of the winner, the protest/objection was sustained and the placings amended - Race 417.
